This contemporary-style home was originally designed and built around 1970 by its first occupant, renowned architect Peter Chermayeff, and it remains a wonderful example of how thoughtfully designed architecture can transcend an era. 50+ years later, it’s design still feels current. The home is perfectly sited amidst protected wetlands, and every room maintains an intimate connection with nature through abundant oversized windows, clearly an influence from Chermayeff’s extensive background in designing some of the world’s most iconic Public Aquariums.
North River Builders was hired to renovate the home’s interior spaces, including making changes to the original floor plan to accommodate a new Primary Suite, adding Bedrooms and a Bath, a new Kitchen, and other changes to complete its conversion from a private art gallery back to a full-time home for the new owners.
